Betty Ann Miller, 81, a lifelong Stewartville, Minnesota area resident, died on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, following a lengthy illness at Mayo Clinic – Methodist Hospital Campus in Rochester.
Betty was born August 3, 1944, in Stewartville, Minnesota, to Harry and Esther (Kaldenberg) Schleusner. She grew up on the family farm in rural Stewartville. Betty attended Stewartville schools, graduating high school in 1962. She was married on November 14, 1964 at First Baptist Church in Rochester, to Gary Lee Miller. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Rochester, where Betty worked at Mayo Clinic. The couple lived in Eyota before moving to the Miller family farm in Stewartville in 1974, where they raised their family and made their home for many years. Gary was a lifelong farmer and Betty was a devoted farmwife who took great pride in caring for her family and their home. In 2014, Betty and Gary moved into town to live with their daughter, Jill.
Betty was an active longtime member of First Baptist Church now Autumn Ridge in Rochester where she taught Sunday school. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family. She and Gary loved traveling, especially to Georgia to visit their son John and his family. The Miller's enjoyed summer trips up north fishing together. Betty loved the outdoors, mowing at the farm, and gardening. Betty was an avid sports fan and especially loved attending and following her children’s and grandchildren’s school and sporting events.
Betty is survived by two daughters and two sons: John (Nickie) Miller of Peachtree Corners, Georgia; Jay (Dawn) Miller of Rochester, Minnesota; Jill Miller of Stewartville; and Jodi (Reese) Wait of Caledonia, Minnesota; six grandchildren: Ethan (Rachel) Miller, Skylar Miller, Hunter Miller (Tristin Wibel), Connor (Tyshay) Miller, Fischer Wait and Finley Wait; four great-grandchildren: Alayna, Shyloh, Jaxon and Klaysen; one brother, Tom (Deb) Schleusner of Fort Ripley, Minnesota; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary, her parents, and sister, Gloria Gerber.
A time of visitation for family and friends will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Griffin-Gray Funeral Home in Stewartville, followed by a prayer service at 3:00 p.m. A private family burial will take place following the service at Union Cemetery in Pleasant Grove, Minnesota.
