Daniel Victor Schandorff, 48, of Stewartville, MN died from injuries sustained in an auto accident on Thursday (February 5, 2026).
Daniel was born on April 17, 1977 in Osage, IA to Daniel Harold Schandorff and Susan Lorraine Hanenberger. He grew up in the Kasson area and graduated from Kasson Mantorville HS in 1997. Daniel was married on September 5, 2015 at Florence Park in Stewartville to Lyndee M. Hendricks. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Stewartville where they are raising their 5 children, and have continued to make their home.
Daniel held various jobs throughout his life, and most were solely to support his extreme love of fishing. He was employed at Millwork Plus in Rochester for 15 years and in 2016 Daniel started a career as a locksmith with Paul’s Lock & Key Shop in Rochester, a job he truly enjoyed and excelled at.
Daniel is a longtime member of the Stewartville Christian Church. Fishing was his true passion and first love; He also enjoyed hunting, being outdoors, and spending as much time as he could camping with his family and friends. He also enjoyed a long passion for shooting pool with both family, and his many teammates who became good friends. He was actively playing leagues in both Racine and Rochester, and enjoyed following the Vikings and the World Poker Tour. He was a proud “Dance Dad”, and enjoyed leading the cheers for Stewartville’s dance team.
Uncle Danno was “Larger Than Life” - His infectious smile, laughter, and great big bear hugs are what we will miss most about him...
He is survived by his wife Lyndee, 3 daughters and 2 sons; William “Billy” Heiman of Stewartville; Hayley Heiman of Mantorville; Sofia Schandorff of Rochester; Keira Heiman and Victor Schandorff of Stewartville; his mother Susan Hanenberger of Stewartville; mother-in-law Lynn Hendricks of Stewartville; His siblings Rebecca Pelton of Burnsville; Alexander (Francoise) Davis of Pine Island,MN; Bonny (Mike) Olerich of Waverly, IA; and life-long best friend whom he considered his brother Corey (Jacinta) Petersen of Winona, Mn; step mother-in-law Cindy Hendricks of Kentucky, and so very many nieces and just two nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Daniel H. Schandorff, his step-father Lester Hanenberger and father-in-law Jeffery Hendricks.
A time of visitation for family and friends will take place from 4 to 7pm on Wednesday (February 11, 2026) at the Stewartville Christian Church/ 751 County Rd 106 SE in Stewartville. The funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday (February 12, 2026) at the Stewartville United Methodist Church with Rev. David Hoot officiating with viewing from 9:30 until the service at 11:00AM. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Arrangements are with Griffin-Gray FH in Stewartville.
