Carol Yeadon, 79, a longtime Stewartville, MN resident died on Sunday (January 7, 2024) of natural causes surrounded by her loving family at Seasons Hospice in Rochester, where she had resided since Thursday of last week.
Carol Patchin was born on March 11, 1944 in Rochester, MN to Lester and Pearl (Boysen) Patchin. She grew up on the family farm in rural Rochester. She attended country school and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1962. Carol married Frank L. Yeadon on May 27, 1962 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester. The couple lived in rural Stewartville and rural Rochester before moving to Stewartville in 1971. They raised their family and have continued to grow their home. Carol was a homemaker and after her children entered school was employed at Fish House Dressings in Stewartville. She then worked at Waters Instruments in Rochester for over twenty years until her retirement. Frank was a 40 yr. member of Local Union #681 as a drywall taper for SE Minnesota Area Builders until his retirement. Carol was a lifelong member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester. She enjoyed playing cards, camping, fishing, and Sunday drives with Frank. She loved collecting dolls, cookbooks and bells. She followed the MN Twins and enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino. She loved helping her children and adored watching their families grow. She enjoyed attending grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s school and sporting events.
She was known to be a stubborn fighter giving all her energy to stay with us a little longer. Her family is grateful for every extra moment. She taught her family everything, except how to live without her. The family would like to thank the excellent physicians, nurses, and support staff that helped with her excellent health care throughout the years, including Mayo Clinic and Seasons Hospice staff.
Carol is survived by her husband of 62 years – Frank, three sons, and one daughters –Bradley (Michele) Yeadon of Stewartville; Bryan Yeadon of Spring Valley, MN; Bruce (Val) Yeadon of Chester, IA and Melyssa (Dan) Bush of Simpson, MN; 9 grandchildren -Monica Yeadon, Danielle (Andrew) Carnes, Matthew Bush, Zach (Hosanna) Yeadon, Sam (Robert Rascon Jr.) Bush, Kyle (Courtney Fate) Yeadon, Brenna Yeadon, Brandon (Betsy) Bush and Bryan Bush; 4 great grandchildren –Brayden, Harper, Marshall and Robby; her sister – Jean Ellen (Lyle) Bemmert of Rochester and sister-in-law – Ella Mae (Odie) Swain of Zumbrota, MN and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and two brothers – Ardella Bamlet, Lucille Barrone, Bernice Coswell, Burton Patchin, Vern “Jim” Patchin and Genevieve “Genny” Rother.
A visitation time for family and friends will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday (January 10, 2024) at Griffin-Gray Funeral Home in Stewartville. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday (January 11, 2024) at Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester with Rev. Byron Meline officiating. The family also invites visitation one hour prior to the church service. The burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville.
