Carole A. Kiehne, 80, a longtime resident of Stewartville,MN died on Tuesday (December 16, 2025) of natural causes at the Stewartville Care Center where she had been a resident since September of this year.
Carole Ann Moe was born August 14, 1945 in Rochester,MN to Therrold "Bud" and Dorothy (Finch) Moe. She grew up in Pine Island,MN and moved with her family as a young girl to Rochester where she attended John Marshall HS, graduating in 1963. She attended beautician's school in Rochester and after graduating was self employed as a hairdresser from her home in Stewartville for a number of years. Carole was married on November 29, 1963 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester to Donovan R. Kiehne. Following their marriage the couple lived in Stewartville where they have continued to make their home for all 62 years of their marriage. Carole was also employed at Hallmark Cards at Miracle Mile Shopping Center in Rochester for a number of years and was employed as a cashier at Caseys General Store South in Stewartville until her retirement. Donnie was employed as a self-owned over the road truck driver at Atlas Trucking in Lakeville,MN and International Trucking in Rochester and was owner/operator of Kiehne Trucking in Stewartville until his retirement. Carole was a past member of the First Baptist Church in Stewartville. She was a member of the Stewartville American Legion Post 164 Auxillary where she served as treasurer and was a past member of the Eagles Club in Rochester. She was an avid horsewoman who showed and rode in competition and was a past member of the Pine Island Saddle Club. She enjoyed enjoyed pottery, collecting Beanie Babies and going to coffee and visiting with friends. She loved time spent with her and Donnie's large families.
Carole is survived by her husband – Donnie; her mother - Dorothy Toogood of Rochester and 5 sisters and 1 brother - Gloria(Darrell) Kiehne of Stewartville; Debra Kennedy of Rochester; Kim Quam of Rochester; Brenda(Don) Rehbein of Rochester and Steven(Nadine) Quam of Rochester; many nieces and nephews and special niece - Aria. She was preceded in death by her father and an infant sister - Cheryl.
A time of visitation for family and friends will take place from 2 to 4:00 PM on Sunday (December 21, 2025) at Griffin-Gray FH in Stewartville,MN. A private family burial and committal service will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville on Monday morning. Arrangements are with Griffin-Gray F.H. in Stewartville.
