Carole B. Brown 96, of Rochester, MN, passed away peacefully, her daughters by her side, on Sunday (June 15, 2025), of natural causes, at her home.
Carole Beverly Drew was born December 3, 1928 in McVille, ND to Charles and Clara (Olson) Drew. She grew up on the family farm and moved to McVille with her family at the age of 12. She attended and graduated from McVille HS in 1946. She was employed as a telephone operator in Fargo, ND. Carole was married on August 11,1949 in Fargo, ND to Leroy “Bud” Brown. The couple lived in Fargo and Grand Forks where Carole was a homemaker and Bud was self-employed in the construction industry. In 1972 the Brown Family moved to Rochester, where they have continued to make their home. Bud and Carole built and established the Bonanza Restaurant in Rochester; Mr. Brown died on April 20, 2007.
Carole was a past active member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Grand Forks and was a current member of St. Bridgets Catholic Church in rural Simpson. Carole and Bud enjoyed winter traveling to Branson, Arizona and Texas. Carole enjoyed her dogs throughout the years and leaves behind her beloved Opie. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Carole is survived by 4 daughters – Pamela Englert of Cumming, GA; Peggy Jones of Roseville, MN; Patti Cook of Roseville, MN and Debbie Brown of Rosemount, MN; daughter-in-law - Sheila Brown of Billings, MT; 7 grandchildren; Jason (Jessi) Englert, Justin Englert (Tiffany Trowell), Sebastian (Sophie) Englert, Max (Sara) Englert, Benjamin Cook, Alex (Natalie) Cook and Samantha (Joey) Melton; 6 great-grandchildren; Chase, Allison, Jack and Reid, Lucy Jo, and Hayes. She was preceded in death by her husband – Leroy “Bud” Brown, her son – Dean, her parents and sister – Ilo Mae Drew.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday (June 20, 2025) at St. Bridgets Catholic Church in Simpson, MN with Rev. Kevin Connolly officiating. A time of visitation for family and friends will be 1 hr. prior to the service on Friday morning. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Arrangements are with Griffin-Gray FH in Stewartville.
