Dale G. Schiebsted Obituary

Dale G. Schiebsted, 63, passed on Wednesday April 8, 2026 of natural causes at his home following a cardiac event.

Dale Glenn Schiebsted was born on January 24, 1963 in Winona, MN to Glendon and Marilyn (Gudmundson) Schiebsted. He grew up in the Rushford-Peterson area, moved to Stewartville with his family at a young age, and graduated from Stewartville HS in 1981. After high school Dale enlisted into the US Air Force as an F-15 mechanic, serving 4 years and achieving the rank of Senior Airman. Following his discharge, he attended Rochester Community College and earned an associate’s degree in electrical engineering. Dale was married on May 30, 1993 to Kerry Affeldt. Following their marriage the couple lived in Wykoff, MN for twelve years and they were later divorced. Dale was employed at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, beginning as a call center agent and retiring as a senior analyst programmer after 20 plus years. For the past three and a half years he was employed with The Clarus Group continuing his work in coding and computer programming. He also was self-employed as a computer repairman.

In his free time Dale enjoyed a variety of puzzles and brain teasers and was a member of the infamous online PVP guild Ruin Gaming (he would want us to note this). He was a good athlete who played basketball in high school, college and during his military service and helped coach his kids’ sports teams growing up. Dale was an avid golfer, fisherman, and lover of animals, especially cats and dogs, always having a couple of each running around his house. He enjoyed spending many hours in his wood shop as a hobby carpenter and was an avid reader of epic fantasies and science fiction.

Dale is survived by his daughter - Morgan Schiebsted of Stewartville, his son - Connor Schiebsted (Bailey Bataille) of Eau Claire,WI. and elder brother - Rodney Schiebsted of Rochester; his Uncle Curt Gudmundson of Peterson and cousins and their families. He is also survived by his two dogs, Diamond and Finch, as well as his two cats, Cole and Robyn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glendon and Marilyn (Gudmundson) Schiebsted.
