Eileen M. Finn

Eileen M. Finn, 67, of Stewartville, MN died on Thursday(May 23, 2024) at the Stewartville Care Center following a lengthy illness with Multiple Sclerois.

Eileen Marie Finn was born on September 27, 1956 in Rochester,MN to Roy and Shirley(Barth) Finn. She grew up in rural Chatfield,MN, went to school there graduating from Chatfield HS in 1975. She  attended college at Mankato State U, graduating with a degree in secondary Spanish education. She taught Spanish at O’ Gorman HS in Sioux Falls, SD for many years. Eileen later obtained her Masters in Spanish education at Marygrove College in Detroit,MI where she taught HS and at Wayne State University. Eileen was a dedicated teacher and often attended her students extra-curricular activities. She was an active member of St. Bernards Catholic Church in Stewartville and was a prayer warrior for her family and friends. She had resided at the Stewartville Care Center for the past 8 years. Her family would like to give special thanks  to all the Stewartville Care Center Staff, CNA Jess, Rita Christian, Fr. Kevin Connolly and St. Bernards Parish.

Eileen is survived by her mother – Shirley Finn of Chatfield,MN; 2 sisters and 2 brothers – Jerry(Nancy) of rural Stewartville; Duane(Betty Goff) of South Carolina; Mary Gripentrog of Sioux Falls,SD and Shari(Tony) Weber of Sioux Falls,SD; neices and nephews – Jeff(Natalie) Finn, Jackie(Mike) Day, Kelli(Mark) Kellen, Kari(Todd) Hammel, Matt(Meghan) Finn, Michael Finn, Meghan Finn(Joe Filipas), Brett(Melissa) Gripentrog and Beth(Duey) Duimstra and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday (June 1, 2024) at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Stewartville with Rev. Kevin Connolly officiating. Burial will follow in Chatfield,MN. A time of visitation for family and friends will take place from 1 hr. prior to the service at the church on Saturday morning.
