Faye M. Claussen

Faye  M.  Claussen, 84, of Stewartville,MN died on Saturday (October 25, 2025) of natural causes at the Chosen Valley Care Center where she had been a resident for the past week.

Faye Mary Campbell was born  September 8, 1941 in  Red Wood Falls,MN to Everett and Grace(Nolting) Campbell. She grew up in Jasper,MN and attended Jasper High School, graduating in 1959. Faye was married on May 29, 1960 in Jasper to Eugene L. Claussen. The couple lived in the Jasper area where Faye was a homemaker and was employed at her family’s restaurant – the Kozy Corner Cafe.  After moving to Stewartville in 1972, Faye was a daycare provider at home, worked at Libby’s canning factory and enjoyed the most – being a self – employed upholsterer. Gene was employed as a farm laborer and also drove truck hauling automobiles for over 30 years.  Mr. Claussen died on January 11, 2021. Faye was a longtime member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Stewartville.  She enjoyed sewing,  quilting, reading and going with Gene to her grandchildren’s sporting, horse and rodeo events. She loved time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Faye is survived by 2 daughters and 2 sons – Julie(Shawn) Baker of rural Chatfield,MN; Donna(Allen) Benson of River Falls,WI/ Scott(Rachel) Claussen of  MN; Justin Claussen(Alli  Hamholm) of Chippewa Falls,WI; 5 grandchildren – Joshua(Jesse) Baker, Sarah(Brandon) Nieman, Drew Benson, Logan( Stephanie) Claussen and Anja(Matt) Peterson; 8 great-grandchildren – Samantha, Sadie, Savanna, Christopher, Aubrey, Blaine, Ava, Ensley and great-grand baby to come soon; 2 sisters – Maxine O’Donnell of Marshall,MN and Judy Ziegenhagen of Moorhead,MN and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband – Gene, her parents, a brother – Orville Campbell, sister-in-law -Jackie Campbell and 2 brother-in -laws – Sean O’Donell and Charles Ziegenhagen.                                       

A committal service and burial will take place at 12:30 PM on Sunday (November 16, 2025) at Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville.  A time of fellowship for family and friends will follow at 1:00 PM at JW’s Silver Grill in Chatfield where lunch will be served.
