Frances "Pat" Mussman

Frances “Pat” Mussman, 88, of Rochester,MN, a former Stewartville,Mn resident passed away peacefully on Saturday (July 26, 2025) at The Waters on Mayowood in Rochester, MN where she had been a resident since 2018.

Frances Patricia Joachim was born on July 25, 1937, in Faribault, MN to George and Elizabeth (Johnson) Joachim, the youngest of ten children. The family later moved to Owatonna, where Pat attended country school through 6th grade and then St Mary’s Catholic school in Owatonna for three years. While attending Owatonna HS she met her husband, Donald and they graduated together in 1955. Pat was married on April 12, 1958 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Owatonna to Donald L. Mussman. The couple lived in Owatonna where they started their family before moving to Stewartville in 1968 where they made their home for 50 years and raised their five children. Pat was a homemaker and later was employed with the Stewartville School District cafeterias and as a medical secretary for 15 years at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Don was employed with Jostens in Owatonna before being employed at IBM in Rochester for over 30 years until  his retirement.

Both Pat and Don were longtime active members of St Bernard’s Catholic Church. Pat also enjoyed volunteering with reading programs at Bonner Elementary. She enjoyed reading and loved time spent with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Pat is survived by her husband, Don, and their five children: Lynn (Mark) Root of Tuscon,AZ; Bradley Mussman of Red Wing,MN; Lisa (Jeff) Kasher of Boulder,CO ; Jill (Toufik) Halimi of Minnetonka,MN and Jody (Steven) Kilpatrick of Madison,WI along with nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters and 5 brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday (August 22, 2025) at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Stewartville with Rev. Kevin Connolly officiating with a visitation from 10 AM to 11:00 AM.  A private family burial will follow at the church cemetery. The Mussman Family suggests memorials to the donor’s choice.
