Loren Kapsch Obituary

Loren C. Kapsch, 74, a longtime Winona, MN resident and Stewartville, MN resident, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Loren was born on December 24, 1950 in Parkston, SD. He attended school in Pine City, MN and graduated from Marshall High School in 1968. He enlisted into the United States Marine Corps, serving 3 years including combat duty in Vietnam. Following his discharge he returned to Minnesota. Loren was married on July 15, 1972 to Cheryl A. Lozenski. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Redwood Falls, MN before relocating to Winona, MN in 1977. Loren was employed at Kendell Lumber Co. in sales and management for over 30 years until his retirement.

In 2015, Loren and Cheryl moved to their home on Martin Lake in Wyoming, MN and Loren was employed with a local remodeler friend there. In 2023, they moved to Stewartville to be closer to family. He was a member of the Winona American Legion Post 9 and the Stewartville American Legion Post 164. He enjoyed going to coffee, hunting and fishing, following the Twins and the Vikings, and took great enjoyment in helping friends and family with any home or DIY projects they had going. Loren was an outgoing person who enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors and loved time spent with his and Cheryl's families.

Loren is survived by his wife, Cheryl, and 3 sisters and 1 brother and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Orpha Kapsch and his niece Jennifer Baudoin.

Cheryl and Family want to thank all the Doctors, Nurses, and Aides at Mayo Clinic Rochester - St. Marys and Methodist Campuses and Mayo Hospice for their loving care of Loren.
