Lynn Langston Obituary

Lynn Ivan Langston, 89, of Stewartville, MN died on Thursday, June 6, 2024 from complications of cancer. Lynn was born in Hurricane, Utah on August 27, 1934 to Francis Ivan Langston and Maud Beardall Langston. He grew up on the family farm, attended city schools and graduated from Hurricane High School.  He served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Wyoming and Montana.

Military service came next as he served honorably in the Army. After his release, he resided in Ogden, Utah where he worked as a mechanic at the Wonder Bread Bakery.  In Ogden he met and married Helen Holyoak on February 5, 1960.  They started a family and while working full-time nights and weekends at the bakery he attended classes at Weber State College as a full-time student until graduating in 1970.  The family moved to Ohio where Lynn worked for Stouffer Frozen Foods.  In 1973 he accepted a job in Rochester, MN with the Kroger Company.  He was the plant engineer at Pace Dairy Foods for 25 years.

Lynn and Helen made their home in Stewartville where they raised their family.  The couple was married 55 years and raised 4 children who presented them with 10 grandchildren before Helen passed away in 2015.  All have been lifelong active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Lynn loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.  His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy.

In 2017 Lynn married Stella C. Yates. He is survived by his wife Stella and his children-Francis (Terry) of Spokane Valley, WA; Lynette (Bob) Kochenderfer of Maple Grove, MN; Leroy (Roseli) of Stewartville, MN; Scott (Amy) of Otsego, MN; ten grandchildren and sister Jean (Kent) Peterson of Cedar City, Utah.  He was preceded in death by his wife Helen, sisters Elaine Christiansen and Nedra Mansor; and brothers Clair and Keith (Camilla).

Currently, no services or visitation are planned. In keeping with Lynn’s wishes, there will be a private family burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville.  Arrangements are with Griffin-Gray FH in Stewartville. Condolences and memories of Lynn are welcome at www.griffin-gray.com
