Marian S. Moor

Marian S. Moor, 80 of Stewartville MN died on Friday, December 15, 2023 of natural causes and complications following a surgery. She had been a resident of the Spring Valley Living Care Center since July of 2021.

Marian Sorensen Moor was born on April 11, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY to Arthur and Lillian (Sorensen) Moor.  She grew up on Long Island, NY and attended and graduated from the Waldorf School. She attended the University of Vermont where she majored in Home Economics specializing in Fabrics and Clothing Construction and earned a Bachelor’s Degree. After college, Marian moved to Endicott, NY where she met Charlie Brown. In 1974, she moved to Manassas, VA with Charlie, where they lived for 2 years until Charlie was transferred to IBM in Rochester, MN.  They moved to Stewartville, MN where they have continued to make their home.  Marian was employed as a Sewing Instructor at Matzke’s Sewing Center and at Northwest Fabrics and Crafts, both in Rochester, for many years. Upon the closing of these stores, she worked alongside her husband, Charlie Brown, at PC Applications in Stewartville as the Office and Financial Manager.

We wish to thank the staff of Spring Valley Living Care Center where Marian has resided for the last 2 and a half years. We also wish to thank Mayo Clinic and Mayo Hospice for their care.

Marian is survived by her husband, Charlie, and sister, Martha Moor of Boston, MA. She was preceded in death by her parents.
